Instructions

These instructions are to be followed together with an impression kit you receive with a retainer or night guard order.

Please read through these steps before attempting your impression.

It is important to follow these steps carefully.

Please note: Be aware, once the putty is a uniform colour it will set quite quickly.
We include spare putty in case of any issues.

Step 1.

Choose the most suitable tray for your mouth. The upper arch tray is designed to be fuller to fit the roof of your mouth. If you are unsure it's best to go for the larger tray.
Lower arch trays are numbered: 2, 4, 6
Upper arch trays are numbered: 1, 3, 5

Step 2.

Take one ball of coloured putty and knead it with a ball of white putty. This should take around 30 seconds (use a timer). Gently roll the putty to around 3 inches long and insert it evenly into the area of the tray your teeth will go.

Make sure there is enough putty at the front of the tray in particular.

Note: If you are using the largest upper tray (1) use two white pots & two coloured pots for the one impression, as you will need a larger amount of putty.

Step 3.

In front of a mirror, open your mouth as wide as you can and push the impression tray onto your teeth. Do not bite down.

Place your front teeth in the middle of the roll of putty (not too close to the front of the tray). Make sure to push the putty over your gum line. Pull your lip over the tray and leave it in place for 5 minutes. It's important to not move your teeth or the tray during this time.

Please use a timer to ensure the putty sets fully.

Step 4.

Remove the tray from your mouth. Keep the putty in the tray.

Step 5.

Use the checklist below to confirm that your impression is suitable to send back.

If it is, please return them inside the box you were sent within the prepaid mailbag.

Consider emailing us pictures with a few angles of your impression (or impressions), so we can confirm suitability.

Send by simply using a postbox or taking them to a post office, we'll do the rest!

It is best practice to make a record of your tracking number if you receive one.
